LIFELONG - 80'S AND 90'S GALA

BLAST FROM THE PAST.

This one dropped into our laps just a few weeks before go-time with only a theme and a date. 

No menu, no rentals, no design, but all we thought was "no problem".

When our client asked for a full-on '90s nostalgia experience to welcome their new CEO, we knew it was time to dust off the neon, crank up the boy bands, and create an event that was all that and a bag of chips

THE DESIGN -

RETRO PLAYGROUND

 

We wanted to create a custom event design that blended classic pop culture references with elevated production elements, making the event feel playful without sacrificing the impact. In our minds, there was a clear checklist of what we should deliver:

  • Add decor elements like iconic 80s and 90s characters and music references at every turn
  • Have our team design a color splash of lighting to make the room glow like neon
  • Add touches of themed LED signs and elemental lighting to pop
  • Get the perfect DJ to give that block party vibe and design the stage to give him bounce
  • Hand pick our favorite furniture rentals from our warehouse that emphasize the fun in function
  • Have our art department hand paint a Mario Kart photo op to set the tone for the entrance
  • Create a memorable take away for guests to spark that nostalgia over and over
  • Custom graphics for our mirror photobooth and hand pick rad props
  • Carry the theme all the way from the registration and the food signs to what the servers were wearing

Great design isn't just about how an event looks—it's the feeling it creates.

THE GRUB -

SAVED BY THE SNACKS

 

Our catering team knew that capturing the spirit of the '80s and '90s meant creating food experiences that were just as vibrant and energetic as the era itself. The chefs knew exactly what they wanted:

  • Food stations that are vibrant and ignite taste buds. But make it interactive like the feeling we used to get making our own lunchables as after school snacks
  • Take inspiration from childhood favorites and elevate them into passed appetizers that can recall memories but also intrigue
  • Don’t stop at the meal. This theme wasn't complete without fun dessert installations. Let’s create entire little shops for candy popcorn and gelato, dress up, and give the guests a way to walk out with the event in hand.

TOTALLY TUBULAR!

We lost a lot of Care Bears and boomboxes that night—but we’ll take stolen keepsakes as a sign of success. The energy was electric, and no one wanted to leave the dancefloor. 

From floorplans and logistics, to on-site execution and troubleshooting, our team managed every detail to ensure a seamless event from start to finish. Between the detailing, long load in of equipment, and high energy food service, managing over 50 staff members can be a task. But we are lucky to have a team of people that believe in our craziness.
